School of Distinction: Tallaght Community School CFES
Tallaght Community School is entering a third year as part of the College for Every Student Programme (CFES). The aim of the programme is to develop awareness and attitudes towards progression into further education once they leave school. This year Tallaght Community School has been acknowledged as a school of distinction in running the CFES programme. The school will continue to run the programme with students participating in following activities:
- Mentoring sessions that are aimed to plan develop and discuss career options and paths that they would like to follow.
- Leadership workshops and projects to develop and strengthen their leadership qualities.
- Pathways to college: Discussing how to progress to further education after school.
- 21st century teaching and learning activities that prepare students for the 21st century workforce.
In order to apply for the school of distinction, teachers and student’s involved in the CFES programme complied together a portfolio outlining the work that has been done in the school relating to CFES. As a result of this portfolio, the school was recognised as a school of distinction.
Tallaght Community school would like to congratulate all teachers and students involved in the programme and well done on achieving recognition as a school of distinction.
