Tallaght Community School v O’Connell Secondary School Dublin
Championship Final 24-03-2017
A huge congratulation is in order for the TCS Boys U14s GAA team who won the schools Leinster Final on Friday 24 March against O’Connell Secondary School. Troops of TCS students travelled to the GAA’s National Games Development Centre in the National Sports Campus, Abbotstown to support the team.
TCS got off to an uncertain start with O’Connell’s scoring 1:1 in the opening 10 minutes. However, some quick changes made by management and great leadership on the pitch from Zach Heffernan (Captain), Luke Doyle and Ronan Smyth drove the team to overcome the O’ Connell attack.
The boys were leading throughout the second half, scoring a goal in the opening few minutes creating a greater margin from O’Connells to close. Brothers Miguel and Angelo Ferriera were dominant in defence and played a pivotal role in securing the TCS win. Corner forward Devin Colton along with first years Jack Mc Govern, Calum Foy and Stephen Loughlin excelled in the forward line to help TCS create more scores.
The boys’ performance was excellent and they were rewarded with a hard earned win. The score at the final whistle: TCS 7-6 to O’Connell 4-4.
