Under-14 Boys' Team

After winning the championship in this competition last year the U-14 Boys team have started their defence of their title. The team is represented by mostly 1st and 2nd year boys who have played two matches to date in their group. They narrowly lost out to Firhouse in the first match losing on a score line of 3-8 to 1-10. On a cold wintery day in Firhouse the lads were level at half time and could have been was it not for some great saves from the Firhouse keeper. The conditions turned in Favour of Firhouse and unfortunately the pulled away in the last five minutes. Some outstanding performances that day included Jake Fallon, Luke Burke, Arron Kelly O’Connor and Angelo and Miguel Ferreira.

On Thursday 07th of December the team took on local rivals Kevin’s CC in a wet and windy Tymon Park. The lads needed to win this game in order to be able to progress out of the group stages. In difficult conditions the lads showed great courage, heart and commitment to get the victory. The lads won out comfortable in the end on a score line of 6:8 to 2:2. Super Subs Sleman Razi and Sam McNicholas contributed 2:1 each in the second half to get the team over the winning line. Super performances from Jack Mcgovern in midfield, Darragh Doyle, Cian Doran and Sean Byrne were solid in defence and Stephane Loughlin in the forwards showed his skill.

Best of Luck to the lads in the next round.
