TCS - What's happening

TCS go to BMX track

bmx_smBMX trip to Cherry Orchard 18 Jan 2012

This week’s Adventure club expedition found us travelling to Ballyfermot where we tried an indoor dirt track for BMX racing. After the gruelling safety trials were completed we rode up to the starting line wondering if the brakes on the bikes would be good enough to stop a melee at the first bend. Turns out they were not necessary as everybody gingerly rode down the hill not knowing what to expect.

Hitting the Wall...

tcs_rockclimb
TCS Students rock climbing in Inchicore.

Since the days have gotten shorter the Adventure club have migrated indoors to continue their adventurous activities. So far we’ve been rock climbing in one of the largest indoor rock climbing centres in Ireland, Gravity Climbing Centre. With a great discounted student price we were able to get the rental of shoes and excellent instructors all for a mere 7 euro…class.

Majority of students going have been 6th year but we are more than happy to include any senior students. The group was a mixed group – it  was great to see the girls once again getting involved and with the whole afternoon of climbing ahead of us we were very excited. Initially the climbing was slow for some as it was a new experience but with instructors there to help, within minutes TCS students were crawling all over the walls like an ant farm. Nothing was too difficult for students and everybody began tackling the advanced climbs with enthusiasm and success.
