TCS' Team Fury capture the spoils!

TCS Team FurySome say that they live in a tree, and that their sweat can be used to clean precious metals... all we know is, they're called Team Fury

Team Fury took part in this year’s F1 in Schools regional finals on Friday the 4th of March.

The team's hard work paid off on the day, and they were very successful and came away very happy. Here is a full report of the day.

The team had an early 6 am start which was a first for our design engineer Kris. The team met at 7 am and hit the road early to avoid any traffic. Our short journey to Griffith College was hassle free and we arrived early! The early start later played to our advantage as we were allowed to set up our display stand early. From the get go we knew we would be pushed for time with our impressive display, but our stand was race ready within the first hour.

U14 Soccer marches on

TCS 1         Chanel College 0

The Tallaght Community School’s under-14 soccer squad continued their winning streak when they overcame a game Chanel College outfit by a single goal in extra time on Thursday last, March 10th.

The Tallaght goal was scored with 3 minutes remaining by the lively Conor Murray following some outstanding goalkeeping by Dylan Kelly in the TCS goals.
TCS will now take on St Joseph’s Rochfortbridge in the Leinster semi-final.

JCSP Art works!

Stained Glass art workThe school applied for a JCSP initiative to have a professional artist in the classroom. We got glass artist Suzannah Vaughan to come in and do a glass work project using plastic pellets and copper plates.

2Boyne worked in groups to create a design, etch it into a copper plate and fill the design with plastic pellets. The copper plates were then put into the oven in the home economics room so the plastic pellets could melt and merge together.

The stained glass inspired work hangs in the school oratory. See more pics here.

In addition JCSP students also completed a Puppet Art Project. See pics here.

Rugby - TCS-v-Rathcoole

T.C.S v. Rathcoole (Senior Match)

Tallaght Community School faced rathcoole in the south Dublin cup on Wednesday the 9th Febuary. Captain Glenn Murray was out to try and get his senior team off to a winning start in this years cup. Unfortunately that was not the case in what was a 10-10 draw between the two sides.

Tallaght played extremely physical rugby throughout the whole game and it showed as they dominated possession for the first 15 minutes or so. And in the end, they're efforts were rewarded with an early try scored by Adam Notaro. Sean Douglas narrowly missed the conversion attempt. Both teams battled hard for the remainder of the half but the score remained 5-0 going into the break.
