Well Done Dean!
TCS Drama Society Perform Hacktivists
On Wednesday 26th April TCS Drama Society made their Tallaght Arts acting debut as part of Act Up Festival’17 in Rua Red. After many weeks reading through the script, learning lines and rehearsals ‘Hacktivists’ came to life under the theatre lights. The students did an amazing job bringing the technical script to life with a great balance of drama and comedy gripping the attention of the audience from action to curtains down.
In February the students chose the play ‘Hacktivists’ from a selection sent to the school from Act Up Festival’17, as they felt it was a play they could relate to. As part of the festival the students took part in a workshop helping not only their acting skills but helping develop their directing abilities.
Congratulations to the students in 3 Shannon who are continuing with the Paired Reading Initiative in the Scoil Aonghasa Junior School. The students in the Senior Infant class were eagerly awaiting the students in 3 Shannon and had no difficulty in finding the 'reading buddy' they were paired with last week. Pics
On Thursday April 27th, 3 Shannon along with six Transition Year students, participated in a cross-curricular Fieldtrip to Kilkenny. The students were accompanied by Ms. O’Shea and SNAs – Avril and Martina.
The students arrived at Kilkenny Castle for 10.30 am and took a guided tour of this impressive medieval castle located on the River Nore in the city. Afterwards they enjoyed light refreshments in the castle’s Kitchen Café.
Next stop was the Dunmore Caves where the students enjoyed a guided tour. They learned about underground cave formations and saw these up close.
Well done to all the students who participated and who represented the school so well as always. Pics
