TCS go to BT Young Scientist Show

TCS Fifth Year Students make it to Final Round of BT Young Scientist Competition!!!!

Congratulations to Daniel Fox, Kim Smith and Jenny Harman, all of whom have qualified for the final stage of the 2011 BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition. The event attracts over 34,000 people every year making it one of the largest events of its kind in Europe.  Nearly 2,000 projects from around Ireland were submitted to this year's competition, however only 520 projects were selected for the final stage in the RDS.

Daniel Fox was successful in reaching the final stage with his project entitled “Doctor Leaf”  - Can He Cure Your Nettle Sting?!!! Daniel is in the process of investigating if a dock leaf really can neutralise a nettle sting.

Kim Smith and Jenny Harman will also be representing Tallaght Community School with their project entitled ‘Investigating the Attitudes and Habbits of Teenagers on Our Roads’. Kim and Jenny will be surveying the students in our school in order to gain a better understanding of the attitudes and habits of teenagers on Irish roads.

The Young Scientist Competition will be running in the RDS from 12th -15th January . . . Good Luck to our contestants!!!
